How I work.& other frequently asked questions
What is your hourly Freelance rate?
I don’t typically work hourly when I take on my own clients. I’ll provide an up-front flat cost for building your website. For one-off tasks like troubleshooting an error, my hourly rate is $125/hr with a 1-hour minimum.
If you’re an agency in Portland and looking to sub-contract client work to me, contact me for rates.
Why are you so expensive? My last designer only charged $20/hr!
I know I’m not the cheapest, but my rates are well within the normal range for the Portland area. Please remember that ‘freelance isn’t free’ and I’m actually running my own business. If you’re happy with another designer who costs less, that’s awesome!
I need a new website. How much does it cost?
This varies a lot depending on complexity of the site (features, how many pages, etc…), but you should expect to pay between $2000-$8000 for a custom WordPress site. You’ll pay 50% upfront and 50% at the end.

How long does it take?
Because of my experience, I work fast. Most websites are finished in 4-8 weeks.
What’s your process?
After you initially contact me, I’ll either ask you some questions about your project or, if you’ve given me enough detail, I’ll send you a link to schedule a 30min phone call.
Can you meet me at Starbucks and show me how to fix the error on my website?
Can you maintain my website for me?
Yes. Hosting and maintenance plans start at $50/mo. There’s more info on my company website, here.
